New space, same amazing grace...

This week marks a BIG moment for our New Life family: the fourth phase of our building remodel is officially underway. As I walked through our now-demoed auditorium and kitchen, I couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic. So many lives have been impacted in that space—people have walked through those doors, heard about Jesus, and experienced His grace in life-changing ways.

I’ll admit, I didn’t expect the memories to hit me this hard. But the more time passes, the more I feel excited about what’s to come…starting this Sunday!

(The Women’s Brunch tomorrow will be at our old location in the gallery-if you attend you get a sneak peak of the progress ?)

Speaking of progress, this Sunday, we’re moving to our temporary location at The Harlow Event Space, 1525 Grand Ave., Kansas City, MO. Think of it like a “Church Airbnb” while our auditorium gets a serious makeover. The entrance is in the alley between Grand and McGee, just a few blocks from our current spot and half a block north of Church of the Resurrection Downtown.

Even though we have a new place, we will still point all things toward Jesus and His same amazing Grace…?. Sunday services are still at 8:00 AM, 9:15 AM, and 10:45 AM, with the same God-focused worship, inspiring New Life story, and the next message in our series through 1 Timothy-Blueprint for a Healthy Church.

During the transition, KidCity will stay at our newly renovated phase 3 at 1717 McGee, with secure drop off and pick-up in the alley. We’ve got all the details ironed out, but if you have questions about parking, the location, or anything else, check out our regularly updated Remodel Webpage, give us a call at 816-421-7729, or email us at info@newlifekc.org. You can also show up at our normal space and we will have plenty of smiling faces to point you in the right direction.

This week’s sermon, “Grace is Greater,” is from 1 Timothy 1:12-17, and it’s all about the eternal truth that grace comes from who we know, not what we know. Too often, we try to earn God’s approval—striving, working, and convincing ourselves that we need to make Him happy. But the gospel tells a different story.

Just like our building is being remade into something even more beautiful, God’s grace is what transforms us—not our efforts or achievements. Grace is greater than all our striving, and it’s the foundation of who we are as a church.

Thank you for rolling with these changes and embracing this exciting season. I can’t wait to see you this Sunday. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or you’ve been with us through every remodel phase, you’re part of this journey and our family, and I’m so grateful for you. Let’s keep moving forward together!
