Vroooom...

A few weeks ago, I met up with a friend for lunch. After a burger and fries, he showed me his new car—a limited-edition Corvette. Let me tell you, this car wasn’t just nice—it was mighty fine. With the sun shining and a perfect breeze in the air, we decided to take the top down and hit the road.

I started in the passenger seat, thoroughly enjoying the ride. But then, to my amazement, he asked if I wanted to drive.

Me? Behind the wheel of a Corvette? Let’s GOOOOO!!!

I rarely get nervous, but this felt like a lot of trust. I certainly didn’t want to mess it up.

At first, I drove cautiously, but then as I got more comfortable, my foot got a bit heavier. On the straightaways, I couldn’t help but test the limits of that mighty engine. Let’s just say, the experience made my Chevy Traverse feel like horse and buggy!

The power, the speed, the pure joy—it was an entirely different driving experience and I couldn’t stop smiling. After a half hour of joyriding, we switched back, and my friend drove us home. But even now, every now and again, when I sit behind the wheel of my Traverse, I can’t help but miss that Corvette. A simple joy ride transformed my perspective and gave me a smile all afternoon.
This Sunday, we’re diving into a different kind of transformation—one that’s far more powerful and permanent than any car could offer. Pastor Dave will be preaching from 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 as we continue our Unshakable Identity series. We’ll explore how the Holy Spirit doesn’t just give us a “test drive” of God’s power but permanently transforms us into the image of Christ.

So, how can we live in that power and experience a life marked by transformation? You’ll have to join us this Sunday to find out. Spoiler Alert: It’s even better than a Corvette. ?
I sure hope to see you Sunday at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am (Full KidCity available), or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or on our New Life website at 9:15 am. Additionally, we are also publishing our sermons on Spotify.

Have a great weekend,
Troy
