WORSHIP AND CREATIVE ARTS

At New Life CityChurch, our prayer is that our corporate worship time is an overflow of our individual worship during the week. We believe worship is more than singing; worship is our response to what we value most. It flows through every aspect of our lives.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Romans 12:1 (ESV)

We believe that God calls the church to gather together and worship corporately to celebrate the work of the gospel. We come together to remember God’s great story and our humble participation in it. We do this in a variety of ways including teaching, singing, prayer, giving, stories of life change, baptism, and communion.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

I’m passionate about worship & creative arts because I believe it’s a powerful expression of the creativity God’s given us. God has used music and creative arts many times in my personal life to speak to me and to speak to others. In my formative years, church leaders mentored me in worship ministry and that’s why I believe in pouring into other creatives to pursue and grow in the creative gifts God’s given them.
