Building Bridges

What is it?

We are a community that desires to create a safe place for people to learn about each other’s cultural journeys and backgrounds to address the racial divide.
Vision: With the foundation of God’s Word, we desire to create a safe place for people to learn about each other’s cultural journeys and backgrounds to address the racial divide. For people to have a space to unpack their experiences on a cultural level.

Who is it for?

Building Bridges is for those who are looking to learn about others, themselves and our society around us. There is so much for us to learn about when it comes to crossing cultures and we love getting to dive into that. How do I get involved?
Currently we are looking for people to join our leadership team. Fill out this survey if you are interested in joining us and or hearing about our events:

What do you do?

Networking: getting people connected to bigger group activities. Going to different events in the city to explore the history of our environment. Movie nights, Juneteenth events @ Hope Center, panel discussions, table for six, worship nights. New song Cafe: Natalie Moultrie Facilitating conversations at church: Development academy, processing different topics over snacks, sermons, community in content. Promoting events: At church, within community groups

Meet the team.

Jeff Walker

I am a Kansas City (KCK) native and I have been apart of New Life for about 8 years. I have always envisioned being apart of a church that values the gospel and diversity. Kansas City is one of the most racially divided cities in the country and I've always wanted to be a change agent that brings people together. As a Christian I believe the gospel teaches us to be in harmony no matter our background. This is why I'm passionate about Building Bridges.
