About NLCC Youth... 

Every Sunday Evening from 6-8pm 

Games/Snack: We love to open up the time playing group games & enjoying snacks.
Teaching: We typically go through a book of the Bible & allow for plenty of
discussion.
Small Group: Each week, after the lesson, the kids are split into 4 groups:HighSchool
Boys, Middle School Boys, High School Girls, Middle School Girls. Each group has 1 -
2 leaders that they get to connect with each week.
Prayer: Ending our time, each week, with prayer as a group

Important dates/events to remember!           
  • October 25th from 6-9PM: Fall Party at Mr. & Mrs. Tony Totta’s house.
  • October 26th: No youth group.
  • November 30th: No youth group.
  • December 7th: Youth group from 4-6PM instead of 6-8 PM
  • December 21st: Youth Christmas Party!
  • December 28th: No youth group.
  • January 4th: No youth group.
           
We just wrapped up our four-week series in Joshua where we discussed God's impartiality (Joshua 2), the communal and personal consequences of sin (Joshua 7), the power and purpose of prayer (10), and God's desire for His children to be Holy (Joshua 22)!    
    Our next Sunday back (Nov 2nd), we're going to jump right into the book of Judges! Over the following weeks we'll cover Isreal forgetting God, the story of Deborah, Gideon the Judge, and Samson's story.
    This month we will begin our "meet the leader" segment with Sarah Thomas! Sarah's a long-time vet to youth leadership and an intentional presence in the lives of the whole group.

Cooper Chavis

Youth Director
Cooper is a full-time master’s student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to this, he served five years in the Marine Corps and received a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College. He and his wife, Erin, are both from Mississippi and have one daughter, Nora. His passions include supplemental discipleship to the home, biblical manhood principles, and multigenerational worship. Cooper and Erin enjoy spending their time visiting family and friends across the country, hunting, and relaxing with friends during Chief’s games.

Sarah Thomas

Youth Leader
Hi, I’m Sarah Thomas! I live in North Kansas City with my husband Keaton and our goldendoodle Winnie! I love our youth kiddos, and I am passionate about creating a space where our youth can establish a firm foundation in their walk with Jesus. I want our youth to be fully equipped to continue following Jesus through college and into their professional careers.

Kenneth Holaday

Hi, I'm Kenneth Holaday. I live in Overland Park, KS and am married to my wonderful wife Beret.
I have a passion for community and for the development of young hearts & minds to know Jesus Christ.
I happily serve the youth and am working for them to grow in their faith as they become young adults.

Nic Beach

Hi everyone, my name is Nic. I’m one of the volunteers that helps out with high school ministry here at NLCC. I am passionate about equipping young Christians in the faith and helping them grow in Christ. I also have a super cool awesome wife and 2 dogs that I love to go on adventures with.
