Wrong way...

This past Tuesday, I went for a run—well, more of a duty to ease my guilt so I could justify eating ice cream later that night. I figured, “Run now, relax, and refuel later,” right?

What could go wrong?

Turns out, plenty.

I typically run out a mile and then turn around and come back. It seems pretty simple, but I took a wrong turn at some point during my run.

I was completely turned around and went completely the wrong way. The streets are at an angle, and it was dark and I was tired…after a few blocks in, I started noticing unfamiliar street signs and realized, “Wait, where am I?”

I pulled out my phone and checked Google Maps, and sure enough, I was sweaty and lost, adding more pain (and distance) to my evening.

Once I recognized I was lost and turned around, things got better. The extra effort wasn’t fun, but I eventually finished my two miles and walked/jogged the extra distance back—and yes, the ice cream was still worth it!
As I was dragging myself back, it occurred that at least I had my email for the week since our sermon series is through Jonah.

The stakes for Jonah were much higher, instead of a few extra blocks, he ended up in the belly of a fish at the bottom of the sea. But just like me, once he admitted his mistake, God gave him another chance. Jonah experienced God’s grace in an incredibly personal way.

This Sunday, Pastor Anthony will be diving ? into Jonah 1:17-2:10. The message is all about how even in our darkest moments when we’ve gone completely off course, God’s grace is still there to save, restore, and redeem us.

I sure hope to see you on Sunday at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am (Full KidCity available), or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or Facebook at 9:15 am. Additionally, we are also publishing our sermons on Spotify.

Sea you soon ?,
Troy
