A full house and an empty tomb...
Easter weekend is here, and our house is officially full…and loud. Leigh-Ann and I are soaking it up. Our oldest daughter flew in from Florida, our second came home from college, and our three boys (high school, junior high, and elementary) are all under one roof again. That’s five kids, one fridge that doesn’t stand a chance, and more shoes by the door than we can count.
There’s something very special about having everyone home…late-night talks, board games that end in arguments ?, and a constant rotation of who’s doing dishes and who’s mysteriously “busy.”
It’s chaos in the best way, and it reminds us how quickly time moves.
One day you’re buckling them into car seats, and the next, they’re asking to borrow the car.

Life changes fast, but here’s who hasn’t changed: Jesus! Jesus conquered death. And you can trust Him with your life.
That’s the message we’re digging into this Easter at New Life as we open Mark 16:1–15. When the women showed up to the tomb, they expected grief, but found hope. Jesus wasn’t there. The angel said it plainly: “He has risen; He is not here.”
Not just a nice idea. A real, physical resurrection.
Jesus defeated death, and that changes everything. So, if life feels fast, uncertain, or even a little chaotic (like our house right now), you’re not alone. But the resurrection gives us solid ground. If Jesus conquered death, you can trust Him with whatever you’re facing today.
We’d love to celebrate Easter with you. Come as you are, bring the kids, the questions, and maybe even someone who just wants some good coffee.
Don’t forget, we are celebrating Easter at the Austin, 1720 Cherry, Kansas City, MO. Here is a shortcut that shows parking options and has some FAQ’s. Our services are still at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am (Full KidCity available), or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or on our New Life website at 9:15 am.
See you Sunday!
