Birds & Batteries...

Sometimes life feels like it’s intentionally testing our patience. Last Saturday, our printer/copier machine which does everything, decided to stop working right when we needed it most for Sunday. No prints, no copies, nothing.

Then, while the garage doors were open at church, a bird flew in… and refused to leave. We tried everything, but this little feathered friend had other plans. It perched in the rafters, clearly enjoying our hospitality, until finally it followed some people out the back door.

And then Sunday, after the Chiefs game, while traffic was rolling out of the stadium after a Raider beat down, our car decided to join the rebellion. The engine shut off at a stoplight to “save gas”…and died. It never came back on. After waiting for about an hour and making the best of it with plenty of popcorn, roadside assistance rescued us. Turns out it was the alternator.

In other words, the copier and the car stopped when we needed them to work, and the bird kept going when we wanted him to stop. Some days, it feels like nothing is under our control.

This Sunday, we’re diving into 2 Timothy 1:8-18, where Paul reminds us that even if life feels out of control or risky, we are sustained by the power of God. Just like a car won’t start without a charged battery, and a copier won’t print without power, we cannot endure, stand firm, or boldly live out the gospel on our own without God’s Spirit.

Come join us as we discover:
How to stand unashamed even when life feels out of control.
How God’s power equips ordinary people for extraordinary faith.
Why even the messiest, most chaotic moments can reveal God’s grace.
Bring a friend, a family member, or anyone who needs a reminder that God’s power is bigger than our problems and way bigger than a stubborn printer, a rogue bird, or a car that won’t cooperate!
