Forgot...

Last Friday, Leigh-Ann and I hit the road for a wedding in Wisconsin. We had the whole plan figured out, watch Sophia’s soccer game in Warrensburg, stop overnight in Springfield, IL, and make it to Port Washington by noon on Saturday. We checked all the boxes: care for the kids, Gratzi (our dog), church details, and then packed up for what we were calling an “extended date.”

Everything went great until we arrived in Springfield just after midnight. I opened the back of the car to grab our bags and… didn’t see Leigh-Ann’s. I asked her where it was, and she looked at me like I was joking.

My heart literally sank, I definitely wasn’t joking!

That’s when I remembered I had carried her bag downstairs to help her, then opened my car to grab the stadium chairs for Sophia’s game… and mindlessly put her bag in my car, and we were driving her car.

There was no question, this was totally my fault.

Here we were, hours from home, and she had nothing for the trip, no makeup, no clothes, no hair tools….nothing…and this was a wedding with family we haven’t seen in several years.

But instead of panicking, by the grace of God and incredible maturity, she stayed super positive. At 6 a.m., we were walking through Walmart, piecing together what she needed for the day. Later, we even found a beautiful wedding dress and a nice pair of shoes all at an incredible deal.

In the end, what started as a frustrating moment turned into a story we’ll tell for years and a reminder I probably won’t forget again!

This Sunday, we finish our sermon series by looking at the beginning of David’s life from 1 Samuel 16-17. We’ll talk about how the ordinary moments, the everyday decisions, the small choices, shape our legacy. And based on the moments from this past weekend, Leigh-Ann is going to leave a great legacy ?. God doesn’t just work through the big victories; He works through our responses in the ordinary and even the inconvenient.

I hope to see you on Sunday, Services are at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am (Full KidCity available), or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or on our New Life website at 9:15 am. Also, we would LOVE for you to follow us on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram

I hope you have a great weekend and make sure to compliment Leigh-Ann on her new dress ?,
