LEAKY CUPS...
This morning, I was meeting a friend for coffee. We were having a great conversation and then all of a sudden, I felt something dripping on my hand….and shirt…and pants…
Within a split second, it occurred to me….my cup was leaking.
I stood up and scanned the room for another cup…I saw the trash, but I didn’t want to waste at least a half cup of coffee… then I noticed the stack of cups behind the counter.
I muttered to the barista that my cup was leaking….grabbed another cup and solved the problem.
All of this happened in a matter of about 5 seconds….
The good news is that I was able to finish my entire cup and I don’t think I freaked anyone out too badly.
There have been times when I’ve felt like my leaky cup…for whatever reason, there are days when I am worn out and need a new cup.
I believe God has prepared us for these moments in life by inventing the “Sabbath.” This is a purposeful time to fix our leaky cups.
This Sunday, Pastor Jeff will bring a sermon in our Spiritual Wellness series from Hebrews 4:1-11 entitled, “Sabbath Rest: How am I re-creating?” I look forward to exploring what it means to remember the Sabbath in the twenty-first century.
And when we remember the Sabbath, we are following the example of God after He created the world. There is so much more to discover, I really hope to see you on Sunday at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am, or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or Facebook at 9:15 am. Additionally, we are also publishing our sermons on Spotify.
See you soon,
Troy
