FINDING FAMILY...
The dinner table is central to the strength of our family. And even though Leigh-Ann is the backbone of our meals, everyone is expected to help.
We prioritize dinner because there is something powerful about eating good food, sharing our stories from the day, and organizing our coming and going.
We have a few rules…
No phones
No complaining
No rudeness
Dinner is important, but family is even more important. Dinner supports the strength of our family.

As I write about my family, I recognize this might be a tough topic. Not every family is functioning well….For some family is not what was expected…relationships might be strained…broken…toxic….but still, family is incredibly important.
In 2017, the National Institutes of Health published research on family relationships and well-being. The report concluded, “For better and for worse, family relationships play a central role in shaping an individual’s well-being across the life course.”
So, what is one to do if their family is not healthy and there doesn’t seem to be much hope for improvement?
Throughout the Bible, the church is most often referred to as a family. There are other metaphors such as a building and a body….but family is by far used most often.
Why?
God has graciously provided a family for His people. All Christians are invited and encouraged to become a part of a church family. We may come from different backgrounds, we may have different life experiences and we may even live in different parts of the city, but as a church family, we serve one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This Sunday, I can hardly wait to share more about church membership and the opportunity to have a spiritual family in our final sermon in our Spiritual Wellness series from Ephesians 4:11-16.
I hope to see you on Sunday at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am, or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or Facebook at 9:15 am. Additionally, we are also publishing our sermons on Spotify.
