MASTERS OF THE PLASTERS...
It is officially Christmas break in our household. The kids are out of school and this means there is no more homework, training sessions, or school projects.
This also means there is time for new endeavors…
In case you’re wondering the kids aren’t lining up to help with laundry or shoveling, but they are finding things to do.
One of them has become obsessed with photography and editing, another is using every last minute of screen time and another is simply wishing he could get his screen back.
Sophia has decided to feed her inner artist….and after attending the “School of Tik Tok” has created a few masterpieces along with her sister.
At first, I must admit I was a bit skeptical that they could create a masterpiece with a blank canvas and bucket of plaster. However because they are my kids and I love them and Sophie was willing to run errands with me a few days ago, we stopped at Home Depot and picked up some plaster.
Now that the project is complete, I must admit…I’m quite impressed. To be honest, I thought I would be calling them the “masters of disasters” but I am now calling them the “masters of the plasters” :). I think the most significant detail is that the girls never wavered. They had full confidence from the beginning that they could create something beautiful from a plain old blank canvas.

The blank canvass that is now a work of art is perhaps similar to the setting in Bethlehem. Who would have imagined the Savior of the world would be born among shepherds and animals? The average Israelite certainly wouldn’t have dreamed their Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. However, the prophets foretold it and never wavered. There is so much more to celebrate, I know you will be encouraged while we look closely at our glorious Savior in a humble manger in Bethlehem during our Christmas Eve services.

We will have some worship and readings and before we close out the service with candle lighting, I will share a sermon from Micah 5:2-5. This is the prophecy that Jesus would come from Bethlehem…the most insignificant of towns would produce the most significant event in history. The birth of Jesus.
