Overflowing with Thankfulness

The season of thanksgiving is here! It’s a time when families come together and we purposefully give thanks for our blessings. We believe it is important to not only give thanks but also bestow what God has blessed us with to others. Oftentimes, this manifests as tangible items given to those in need. However, we also want to spotlight ways that our team members are using their gifts and connections within the community to show God's love to others through Good Dads KC.

In recent months, Good Dads Kansas City has partnered with Lansing Correctional Facility and Brothers in Blue to offer training to inmates. For prisoners, men, in particular, these organizations have created a network of hope and achievable pathways to success.
Not only does Good Dads KC offer support during their time in prison, but also beyond: to ensure that the cycle is broken.
The men are being educated on organizations such as Healing HouseFirm Foundations, and Dads Against Crime for assistance during their reintegration into society.
Good Dads KC also offers training beyond prison walls, with classes offered downtown at New Life CityChurch! One attendee, Nathan, is especially thankful for Good Dads KC in this season of his life. Nathan had been on the search for a community of purposeful, God-fearing men for over seven months. When he received a brochure inviting him to a Good Dads KC class, he knew it was from God.  Nathan is so thankful for this group of men and is looking forward to the impact they will have on his life and his family.
This Thanksgiving season, be sure to give thanks to God for all that He has created and transformed in our lives! Consider volunteering, donating, or praying for Good Dads KC so more lives can be changed, ultimately showcasing the power of God’s love and mercy towards his creation.

"See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

1 Thessalonians 5:15-18

Thank you for all your prayers and support; we could not do this work without you!
