CHANGING SEASONS...

This past week has been great…especially for our daughter Sophia. It began with a surprise offer for tickets for the Chiefs V. Bengals game on Sunday night…only eighteen rows up on the twenty-yard line.

Right at the end of my sermon on “Contentment” of all topics, someone offered me free tickets AND the Chiefs won and are headed to the Super Bowl.

Let’s Goooooo!!!!

I asked Leigh-Ann if she wanted to be my date and got turned down….something about it being too cold. Sophia was next in line…and there was no hesitation.

We had a blast and made memories to last a lifetime….wow!
Then just a few days later, Sophia signed to play soccer at the University of Central Missouri. We couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity that God has provided.
However, it was not always this easy….over the past twelve months there have been many difficult phone calls and text messages….some of them from coaches kindly rejecting her. There were more conversations than I can count about potential opportunities and then something just didn’t seem right.

Tears were shed…questions were raised…dreams almost died out.

The future can be uncertain….I should say…the future is uncertain.

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel…and hope can be resurrected. And then there are moments like we experienced this past week when everything goes right and expectations are exceeded.

Living through the difficult seasons of life can be brutal. This Sunday, I can hardly wait for the sermon, “Changing Seasons: How am I surrendering to God’s sovereignty?” Pastor Dave Robinson will be sharing from Ecclesiastes 3:1-4, 11-4 from his own recent personal experience along with lessons learned throughout his lifetime.

There is so much more for us to study, I hope to see you on Sunday at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am, or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or Facebook at 9:15 am. Additionally, we are also publishing our sermons on Spotify.

See you soon,
Troy
