Somewhere along the way, we realized we were going right through Warrensburg.

Sophia is in college there, and she happened to be finishing an evening practice at almost the same time we were passing through. We compared locations and discovered we could meet for a late-night snack.

Sophia left practice, and we pulled into McDonald’s only a few minutes apart. It felt like a small miracle.

We grabbed some 4 for $ 5s, sat around talking and laughing, and then we headed our separate ways.

Nothing spectacular happened. No reservation. No carefully coordinated family event. No matching outfits for photographic evidence. Honestly, I was lucky just to get a picture.

There is something special about being with people who remind you who you are and where you belong. This Sunday, I hope attending New Life will help remind you who you are and where you belong.  

Pastor Anthony will be teaching from Luke 5:33–39, where Jesus uses a wedding, an old garment, and wineskins to show that following Him is about much more than simply trying harder or improving a few areas of our lives.

Maybe you have been following Jesus for years. Maybe you’re trying to figure out what you believe. Or maybe life has simply left you wondering who you are and where you belong. Come worship with us, bring someone with you, and let’s discover together what Jesus meant when He said the new cannot simply be squeezed into the old.
