Living legacy...

It’s been a fun (and slightly humbling) week at our house with my mom in town for a visit!

She’s been spending time with the boys, playing Mille Bornes and Skip-Bo (and let’s just say, she’s still got her card-playing edge). She’s cheered them on in FIFA and Madden, and even watched them rock climb. Of course, we’ve had some great food together, and yes, plenty of soccer.

My mom has always enjoyed spending quality time with her kids and grandkids, but these days together are so much deeper. While the boys think they’re teaching grandma about video games, she’s teaching all of us something much more important. She’s showing us what it looks like to leave a legacy, not of high scores or climbing routes, but of laughter, kindness, generosity, and most of all, a love for Jesus that spills over into everyday life.

Mom has always led by example when it comes to her walk with the Lord. And she is leaving a gift of how to love Jesus well with our family and so many more.

That ties right into this Sunday’s message. Pastor Dave will be preaching from Isaiah 61:1–3 in a sermon entitled “Living and Leaving a Legacy Rich Life.” He’ll be sharing stories from King David, reminding us that legacy isn’t just about what we leave behind, it’s about how we live right now. And maybe the biggest surprise: the second half of life isn’t a sideline. In fact, it’s often where God writes some of the most powerful chapters of our story.

So, whether you’re just starting out, in the thick of raising kids, or looking at the years ahead, this sermon will challenge and encourage you to think about how your life can make an eternal impact.

I hope you’ll join us Sunday, it’s going to be rich.
