The Kingdom...

It was packed to the brim, and we were facing our division rivals, the Raiders. If you’ve ever been to Arrowhead, you know one thing immediately: it is loud. Really loud. In spite of people thinking the referee is the 12th man on the field for the Chiefs :), we all know it’s our fans.

And we are kind of crazy, and really loud, and super intense!

There’s something thrilling, and I think, a little intimidating about 80,000 people shouting all together to defend a third down. You can almost feel the tension in the air for opposing teams.

And as I watched the stadium erupt, it struck me: everyone is passionate because they want to contribute. Only 11 players are on the field at a time, but hundreds of coaches, staff, and yes, even us fans, are all playing a part in making the Chiefs a championship-caliber team. Every cheer, every wave, every “CHANT” matters.

This is exactly how it is in God’s kingdom. Each of us has a role to play, some visible, some behind the scenes, but all equally important.

As believers, we get to contribute in God’s Kingdom.

We can study and teach God’s Word, becoming vessels of truth and wisdom. We can pursue purity of heart and life, preparing ourselves to be used by God. And we can serve with humility, offering kindness and patience to those around us.

This Sunday, I’m excited to challenge each of us to do our part. Whether we’re on the “field” leading, in the stands cheering, or supporting in ways unseen, God calls us to participate fully in His work. Just like at Arrowhead, the Kingdom thrives when everyone contributes their unique role with passion.

So get ready. Let’s show up this Sunday ready to learn, serve, and cheer on God’s work like the ultimate 12th man. Who knows? Maybe our combined efforts will make a louder impact than we ever imagined.
