Unbelievable...

Our youngest is officially a teenager.

Unbelievable!

This week, Ian turned 13 and celebrated with a a trip to the pool, the live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon, Jay’s Chicken, enough sides to feed a football team and we capped it off with peach cobbler (his choice).

If you know Ian, you know one of the things we love most about him is his wit. His offhanded commentary and quick sarcasm keep us laughing, and sometimes shaking our heads. One of the best parts of his birthday dinner was when we went around the table and shared what we each love about him. It was meaningful, funny, and full of those little moments that you just can’t rush.

And that’s exactly the point.

We need more of those moments.

More conversation.

More connection.

Less distraction.

That’s why we’re continuing our Unplugged series this Sunday, and inviting everyone into a digital fast, a conscious choice to take a step back from constant connectivity so we can tune in to what really matters.

This week, Pastor Anthony will be preaching a message titled “Discover: We Were Made for Limits” from Genesis 2:15–17 and 3:1–6. We’ll explore how God, in His omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence, is limitless, but we are not. We weren’t created to be available 24/7. Living without limits eventually leads to burnout, brokenness, or both.

It’s time to rediscover the freedom that comes when we embrace our God-given boundaries.

So here’s a Friday challenge: unplug more, listen longer, and lean into the people around you. Start at the dinner table. Take a walk without your phone. Ask a good question and wait for the answer. I can’t wait to hear what you discover.

We can’t wait to see you Sunday,
Troy
