Way different...

Can you think of a time you’ve walked into a room and felt like you’ve stepped into a whole new place, even though it's the same old building? It’s like that moment when you walk into a renovation project and think, “Whoa, this isn’t what I remember!” Well, that’s exactly what’s happening at our building over at 1717 McGee.

You know, the old roof? Gone. Demolished. We’ve raised the walls higher, added a balcony with a new coffee shop space below, and redesigned the whole place to feel more open and welcoming. Different layout, more storage, changed direction…even new bathrooms!

I tell you what…we’re basically reinventing the place.

And I have to say, it's so exciting to see the transformation happening right before our eyes. But here's the thing: It’s still 1717 McGee. It’s the same address….takes up the same ground space, but it's been totally reimagined.

It feels different, functions differently, and will look completely new…it’s not done yet…still praying for Easter ?.

Now, imagine something even more transformative. Imagine a way of life that’s not just remodeled or renovated, but totally flipped upside down. That’s what Jesus is offering in the Gospel of Mark.

This Sunday, we’re kicking off our new sermon series, All Things New, and we’re starting with a look at "A New Kingdom.” Something different from anything we’ve ever known.

In Mark 10:32-45, Jesus describes a kingdom where greatness is measured by fighting for the bottom. It’s not a kingdom where power and control rule the day, but one where humility and service take center stage. It’s a place where the first are last, and the last are first.

So, while we’re all excited about the transformation happening at 1717 McGee, this Sunday we’re going to talk about a much deeper transformation, the one Jesus invites us into when we enter His kingdom. It’s a kingdom where everything we thought we knew about greatness gets turned upside down. And trust me, it’s a lot more exciting than new bathrooms.

I sure hope to see you on Sunday. We are still meeting at our temporary location at The Harlow Event Space, 1525 Grand Ave., Kansas City, MO. Our services are still at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am (Full KidCity available), or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or on our New Life website at 9:15 am.

I can’t wait to dig into this message with you and explore what it means to be part of a kingdom that’s completely different. Because when Jesus is in charge, everything changes.

Have a great evening,
Troy
