Watch out...
Recently, our middle child and oldest son, Dallas, reached a major milestone. He officially got his driver’s license. After riding scooters all over downtown, golf carts, six months of driving on a learner’s permit, plenty of time behind the wheel, and only a few tense moments, he was finally ready.
The day of the test, Leigh-Ann took him in, and he handled everything with confidence and passed with ease. And this is really good, because a car has the potential to offer incredible convenience and happiness, and it could also become deadly. No matter our age or experience, driving is serious business. A moment of distraction, a missed stoplight, or a lapse in judgment can have major consequences.
Driving well is not a guarantee, just try navigating the interstates in Kandas City ?. It takes focus and plenty of intentional practice. Invest the time and attention, and you can safely transport yourself and others to where you need to go. Ignore the rules or fail to prepare, and the outcome can be disastrous.
Relationships are much the same. A split-second poor choice and regret can follow close behind.
This Sunday, Pastor Don will bring decades of pastoral and counseling experience to help us understand how to love smart. He will guide us through 2 Samuel 11:1-5, showing that the decisions we make in our relationships matter. Learning to navigate love wisely, to pause, reflect, and make intentional choices, can prevent unnecessary heartbreak and guide us toward life-giving connections.
Just like driving, love requires practice, focus, and discipline. When we invest in learning how to love well, we can enjoy healthy relationships that carry us safely through life’s curves and intersections.
Join us this Sunday and discover practical wisdom for loving smart so that you can avoid regrets and help others arrive safely as well. Services are at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am (Full KidCity available), or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or on our New Life website at 9:15 am. Also, we would LOVE for you to follow us on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
Have a great evening,
Troy
