Paul Potts…for the majority of his life, he lived in anonymity.
However, shortly after we planted New Life, his audition aired on Britain’s Got Talent.
Leading up to the audition, when the producers interviewed him, he was working in mobile phone sales and struggling to make a living.
They asked why he traveled for the BGT audition, and he responded by saying he has always wanted to sing opera. As the interview continued, he went on to say that he had always lacked confidence.
And then he sang!
The three judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Morgan, and Piers Morgan were blown away….
“I wasn’t expecting that”
“We’ve got a case of a little lump of coal that is going to turn into a diamond.”
Well, I think Amanda Morgan was right. When I looked up the video a few days ago, it had more than 192 million views and almost 500k likes.
Paul Potts has become that diamond and made quite a career out of singing. He had a gift, but lacked confidence…have you ever experienced this before?
Do you relate when it comes to your faith? You are not alone…
This is very common, and often it takes a person to see the talent and find a way to help the individual bolster his/her confidence.
This Sunday, I look forward to sharing the final sermon in our series through the Gospel of John. In John 21:20-25, Jesus knows the value of Peter and John and in these final verses, Jesus gives each one the confidence to live out their faith.
If you relate to having faith but at times struggle with your confidence, you won’t want to miss it. I sure hope to see you at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available) or 10:45 am, or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or Facebook at 10:45 am.
