One of our pillars is Worship and one important way we encourage everyone at New Life to worship is with “daily devotions” or a “quiet time” – setting aside time everyday to read the Bible, meditate on what you read, and pray. This page is devoted to giving you resources that will improve your daily devotions. Check back often for new content.

We recommend YouVersion. It’s a complete ecosystem of Bible resources – online and apps (apple and android, adult and kid versions). You’ll find Bibles in several translations that you can bookmark and notate, Bible reading plans, devotional guides by topic, tools that will allow you to search the Bible for phrases and ideas, and more. If you create an account, your activity will sync across the web, tablet and phone.

Find YouVersion at For the apps, search your app store for “youversion bible”.

Here’s a quick introduction to YouVersion from our elder team.

If you’re just starting to have daily devotions, check this out. We asked the NLCC elder team what chapters in the Bible they’d recommend for someone’s first month of daily devotions. Here’s their list.

When you read a passage of scripture, what should you look for? This Bible Reading Journal template will help.

Here’s another resource for your daily devotions, Guide to a Daily Quiet Time.
