During our most recent cold snap, we had a pipe burst. However, we didn’t find out for several days…

After returning from New Orleans, we put everything away and settled back into our house.

After a while, it was time for the kids to go to bed, and then we noticed…Isaiah’s top bunk was soaked and we could tell the ceiling was leaking water!

I climbed up in the attic to look around for the water source and noticed water that had leaked around our heat pump drain.

As I looked closer and moved the drain, some water leaked out…

…and then I realized.

The drain had frozen, expanded, cracked the pipe, thawed, and leaked out over the bedroom.

Since there weren’t any stores open and I didn’t really want to fix it anyway, I shut off the system and added it to my “to-do” list for the next day.

I am proud (the good kind of pride 😊) to say, I was able to buy the correct drain pipes and put them back together so they no longer leak.

However, since I shut off the system, when I went to turn it back on, our “Nest” thermostat was dead. Finally, after charging it back up, I plugged it in and it took several minutes to “re-calibrate.”

This Sunday, I look forward to continuing our “Spiritual Wellness” sermon series with a sermon about re-calibrating (making small changes to work most efficiently). Don’t worry it’s not going to be a plumbing class, although there might be others out there who have had some frozen pipes, but you really don’t want me teaching that 😊.

We are going to study from 1 John 1:9 on the topic of confession. As Christians, confession is very important for our everyday life, not to become right with God–that happened at salvation, but rather to restore the joy of our salvation.

Simple corrections to get back on track….

There is so much more I can’t wait to share. I look forward to seeing you at 8:00, 9:15 (Full KidCity available), or 10:45 am, or you can watch the Livestream on YouTube (Like and Subscribe) or Facebook at 9:15 am. Additionally, we are also publishing our sermons on Spotify.
