Jason Parr serves as an elder overseeing Worship at New Life CityChurch. He has been in ministry for over 20 years, mainly in the area of worship and creative arts. He currently serves as the Chaplain and Freshman Bible Teacher at Heritage Christian Academy in Olathe. Jason and his wife, Marsha, have been married for 18 years, and have three hysterical kids.
Jason graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater and voice performance in 2000. That same year, he moved with Marsha to the Kansas City area and began working in ministry. Music and ministry have always been the two running themes in Jason’s vocational life. In the churches where he has served, he’s been a primary worship leader, liturgist, ministry director, and pastoral counselor. He has also participated in a number of musical opportunities, including a professional a cappella vocal octet, Octarium, and a band he formed in 2013 called Freedom Calls. This band has played a great deal locally and provided worship music for events and conferences around the nation.
Jason is passionate about pursuing Christ, and helping others in their pursuit of Christ
