Community In Context

Community in Context is a time in each Sunday service at New Life CityChurch where we hear the story of a church member or ministry opportunity.

I am asking you to prayerfully consider the following:

A weekly “emotional sobriety checkpoint” – If you for any reason feel the need for an “emotional sobriety checkpoint,” the JUMP (Jesus Understands My Problems) meeting is every Wednesday, even on or very near holidays, from 6 to 7 PM at the church. We eat a meal, often cooked by some of our more talented participants, hear a short message, and break up into smaller groups to share how our week has gone, whether good or bad. Many of the attendees have a substance-abuse background, but some (including me) do not.

Volunteering on the security team – The security team could use a few more volunteers; reach out to Jim Edwards for this.

Learning about Generational Ministry – I am available to discuss/present on Generational Ministry, either 1-on-1 or to a group.

Attendance at/participation in First Fridays – Everyone, please put First Fridays on your calendar for the remainder of 2018 and be in prayer about how you might assist in outreach on those dates. This may be something as simple as showing up and hanging around. Reach out to Jason Parr at jparr@newlifekc.org or myself (e-mail below). There is no better outreach opportunity at New Life CityChurch than this.
